About the Role

iv3 is looking to engage experienced residential property field inspectors in connection with its insurance inspection business. As an independent contractor on iv3s inspector network, you will have the opportunity to provide service to many leading insurance providers in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Previous insurance (loss control/claims/broker/underwriting) industry experience or one year experience in a related industry (sprinkler systems, boiler, construction, engineering, fire prevention, electrician, etc.) preferred
  • Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) certification preferred
  • Professional designations such as Canadian Risk Management (CRM), Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) Infrared Level 1 and other related accreditations
  • Previous experience with industry software such as Commercial CoreLogic (BVS), Apex, Sketch-up, CAT, e2Value, Douglas Cost Guide, etc. an asset
  • Customer facing experience required. Must maintain a professional appearance and communicate professionally
  • Ability to work independently, travelling within an assigned territory and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to manage expectations, deadlines, and service level agreements
  • Equipment, including Windows-based laptop (Windows 11 or later), digital camera, laser measuring tools, wheel measuring tools, etc. needed

Skills and Expertise

  • Accept requests for inspections in a timely manner
  • Communicate updates on the applicable platform on file progress and any issues that arise
  • Schedule convenient dates for site visits with the insured customer
  • Complete on-site walk-throughs of the building(s), as well as exterior measurements and sketch of properties inspected as required
  • Document buildings, features, materials of construction, deficiencies, and building services with digital photos that are uploaded to the iv3 and/or related platform
  • Calculate replacement cost (as required) using recognized industry products (Core Logic, etc.)
  • Complete final report summarizing details of each site visited, including construction, occupancy, protection systems, exposures, along with deficiencies
  • Meet client requirements for inspection turnaround times, write-up times, and quality standards
